About the Brand

The Bar over Lazy S X is the official brand of SJ Farm, located in Yellowstone County, Montana. Originally registered in the 1930s and 1940s to my great grandfather, it was known as the Bar Lazy S X (All in a row). After his passing, the brand was decommissioned, when my grandfather sold his share of his father's ranch to his sister and brother-in-law. He then bought his own ranch and established his own brand, the Heart S. Years later, as I needed a brand, I discovered through a letter from my aunt that she had re-registered my great grandfather's brand in my name. Due to length restrictions, the state modified it to Bar over Lazy SX. Although its appearance has changed, it is still pronounced the same way. Now I can call it the Lazy SX under a Bar.
